At the Venice Biennale, under the broader theme "Foreigners Everywhere," the renowned kinetic artist BREAKFAST proudly presents "Interwoven Existence" at the Grenada Pavilion. Drawing inspiration from Grenada's culturally diverse population, which brings together influences from around the world, this kinetic installation symbolizes global interconnectedness and the rich variety of human experiences.
"Interwoven Existence" features over 6,000 kinetic flip-discs, each physically moving in response to visitor interactions. As participants approach, the piece records a short clip of their presence, which is then displayed alongside a selection of clips from previous visitors. This dynamic blend of new and historical interactions, set against a shifting tapestry of colors, represents the myriad backgrounds and stories of people worldwide, much like the multicultural makeup of Grenada itself.
