Climate Shift (1857-2025)

Ink on flip-discs, kinetic system, temperature data
27 x 36 in  |  69 x 90 cm per section
Executed in 2025

The vertical lines running across these three pieces each represent the average global temperature of two years, starting with 1857 on the far left and ending in 2025 on the far right.

The viewer’s reflection in each artwork appears with greater or lesser clarity based on the current global temperature.

The palette was inspired by the Climate Stripes project by Professor Ed Hawkins, University of Reading.
